Community Grants

Funds raised by Montgomery County Crime Stoppers (MCCS, dba Multi County Crime Stoppers) fund raising efforts are used to provide community grants to fight crime and protect law enforcement in our communities. Grant awards have exceed $325,000 since the beginning of the grant program in 2014.

  • Children’s Safe Harbor donation targeting prosecutorial effectiveness.
  • Vehicles for Sheriff Department Crime Stoppers coordinators.
  • Sniper rifles for Sheriff Department Homeland Security Division.
  • Door Bearacades for ISD as test case of enhanced school safety modification efforts.
  • First responder gas mask and safety kits for key, first response team.
  • Dual band radio purchases to securely link a Sheriff’s Dept. to regional and statewide police networks.
  • Children’s Safe Harbor donation targeting prosecutorial effectiveness.
  • Electronic Detection Canine to battle child pornography (one of the first in the U.S.).
  • Further support to again demolish vacant buildings that housed illicit activity.
  • Bullet Proof Vest purchases to replace gun belts and alleviate officer back problems.
  • Classroom material purchases for the enhanced DARE Concept.
  • Canine transport container purchase.
  • Build-out and equipment for a new “Crime Stoppers media room” at DA’s office.
  • Rebranding of donated “event trailer”.
  • Drug test kits purchase and vest for drug sniffing dog (this program’s success required funds above budget available).
  • Replacement of obsolete laptop computers for police department.
  • Purchase of body cameras for ISD police department.
  • Constable overtime to add 8 patrol weeks in a higher crime area.
  • Police overtime to add three months bike patrol.
  • DWI simulator purchase for Sheriff’s Department.
  • Support to demolish vacant buildings that housed illicit activity.
  • ISD personnel training in the enhanced DARE Concept.
  • Mobile phone application purchase to better receive tips.
  • Bumper sticker and decal purchases to publicize our tip line.
